Time to move on...

We DO think Jessica Watson has sailed very well and we feel she is young Australian of whom we should all be proud. We will be reporting at length on her heroic circumnavigation and what will surely be a great welcome home.

Grant Wharington, the 2003 Sydney to Hobart winner commented ‘The sailing community cannot speak highly enough of Jessica's skills, toughness and courage. She obviously has the ability to go the extra distance. It is a pity that her managers and routers did not have her sail the extra 1,200 or so miles further north into the Pacific and then back down, in good sailing conditions.

‘That would have given her the necessary distance to reach the WSSRC RTW distance of 21,600 miles, that would have taken around an extra two weeks, but then she would have had a moral victory at least in her attempt to best Jesse Martin's record. That would certainly have the strong support of sailors everywhere.

‘Right now, we should move on an celebrate a great effort from a Young Australian.'

So lets do just that and celebrate with Jessica upon her return.
