Boating boost, SIBEX (China) Boat Show, Sail-World Canada launches

Extreme weather has battered the Australian east coast in the past few days – literally.

While Qld and northern NSW are mopping up and backwashing our pools, Victoria is enjoying/suffering heatwave conditions. Good for some, though, with boat buyers 'coming out of the woodwork' as our good friend, Scott O'Hare from Aussie Boat Sales in Melbourne reports.

If the fires are kept at bay and sufficient rain falls, may the industry at large celebrate a great boating season.

SIBEX - China (Shenzhen) International Boat Show - 12-15 November 2009 – the reference show for China and South East Asia starts on Thursday. This city of 13 million people just an hour from Hong Kong, was founded just 30 years ago and is now home to this massive event.

Also news this week, a selection of annual results from the big brands Fairline and Beneteau.

A hearty welcome aboard to the team at Sail-World Canada, joining the TetraMedia network and spreading our reach right across North America – and beyond. Our North American newsletters now go to more than 40,000 subscribers.

Avid sailor, Guy Perrin is at the helm and excited about bringing his perspective to the wide world of sailing.

Another welcome, this time ‘welcome back' to Barry Jenkins, the man who has more hats than anybody in this industry, and who is rejoining Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show to fill the marketing and events manager position vacated by Mark Jensen. Barry is a great advocate of our national industry and indefatigable force SCIBS 2010 will benefit from.

Phil Arane, our very busy media sales specialist is just back from Asia. There is an ever growing manufacturing industry keen to reach the marine world online and the TetraMedia publications certainly do that.

You can reach Phil on +612 9873 5444 or Mobile 0407 076 585

Have a great week, whatever the weather!
