How sweet it is.....Australia has two brand new world champions, Queenslander (actually, knowing what they're like ‘up there' I should say a North Queenslander) Wayne Mawer has claimed the Formula I Men's title and Sydneysider Jack Houston dominated the Junior Boys.
The action of course took place at the 16th World Water Ski Race titles in Belgium and Mawer was pronounced the victor in somewhat controversial circumstances after the US team was penalised.
We have all the results right here.
In other news, we take a walk-though the Sydney dealership JD's Boatshed, Australian home of the prestigious US Cobalt breed and bring news that may interest those with an extremely healthy bank balance – the superyacht formerly owned by IT ‘whiz kid' Daniel Tzvetkoff is up for sale and for a mere $7.8 million or so it could be yours.
And marine finance specialist, Finlease has reported an improvement in consumer confidence, good news we're all pleased to hear.
Down on Kogarah Bay, home of the powerful St.George Motor Boat Club, the 2008/09 season drew to a close with another successful Spectacular and we have a couple of great photographs from the very efficient Reg Blunt.
If you're reading this on Thursday morning, I shall be at the 2009 Sydney International Boat Show by 8am, having a cup of coffee and enjoying the winter sunshine.
Now I have been waxing lyrical (love that phrase....no idea what it means, but I love it) about the show, the 21st to be staged at Darling Harbour.
No beating about the bush (or elsewhere), just be there.
Who knows, you might even bump into me, but be careful, I bruise easily.
