Welcome again to another edition of

Thanks to the good folk at the Cigarette Racing Team we bring you a feature on the legendary Don Aronow, a man who stood astride offshore racing like a colossus during his hey day.

And we have a full report on the BMW Norwegian Grand Prix, won in convincing style by Jorn Tandberg and Inge Brigt Aarbakke aboard ‘Jotun'. Aussie driver Tom Barry-Cotter and throttleman Pal Virik Nilsen finished a creditable sixth.

Sadly, the planned Australian Offshore Challenge has been postponed, but all is not lost, it will proceed next year.

We report on the Melbourne Boat Show, though its now full speed ahead now for the 41st Sydney International Boat Show with organisers now again in command of Cockle Bay and its surrounds following its closure for the recent World Youth Day celebrations. By Thursday of next week, the boat Show crowds will be able to walk on the waters of Cockle Bay

For the first time, tickets for this year's show can be ordered on-line – simply visit the show website, and when you book on-line you don't stand in line.

And if your up north, late August will bring you the latest Brisbane Boat Show and we will be bringing you more news about that in the weeks to come.

If you own a powerboat and have a few minutes to complete the Mobilarm survey on Powerboat-World you could win a rather special $1500 Musto offshore jacket.

Plenty more in this edition to keep you busy and, we hope, interested, as Powerboat-World strives to bring the all the last news.
