Alinghi win iShares Cup at Hyeres
The 18-race iShares Cup Sailing Series went down to the wire, with two America's Cup teams dueling for the title in the double-point final race. The British TeamOrigin crew started the day with two wins in gusty 20-knot conditions. Pindar lead European 18ft Skiff Grand Prix

Tartaruga wins the Giraglia Race by 57 seconds

Marco Paolucci's Comet 45S, Tartaruga, has taken overall honours in the Giraglia Race 2008, concluding this year's week-long Giraglia Rolex Cup. The 45-footer completed the 243-mile course in 31 hours, 43 minutes, 27 seconds. Tartaruga won a very close three-way battle on ORC corrected time, beating a Canard 41, Aurora, by just 57 seconds, and third-placed First 44.7 Argo by 2 minutes 13 secon... [more]

Round four of the RS400 Northern Tour was held over the weekend at Bassenthwaite SC, sponsored by Purple Marine. Winners were Richard and Elaine Marsh from the Elton SC. The Marshes were able to discard their first race, a sixth place, and then carded a very consistent series over the remaining five races, never worse than third, to edge out Paul and Mike Allen by one point for the victory... Softly, softly for Contender Europeans

The event was won by the 2007 World Champions, the Danish pairing of Jorgen and Jacob Bojsen-Moller, with Hungarians Majthenyi and Domokos finishing in second place and the Australian Rydge and Scarr in third....
