Plenty of Asian region headlines to lead off this newsletter, with Boat Asia (Singapore) just gone and the first Korea International Boat Show coming up.

And then there's news from around the world, from Hamilton Island to the Artemis Transat.

Uniquely Singapore wins Race 9 start
Race 9 of the Clipper 07-08 Round the World Yacht Race series began at 1300 local (2000 GMT) and Uniquely Singapore was first across the line, closely followed bytheir Asian rivals, Qingdao. In light air finale, Cian and his Team Shosholoza recovers from 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 and take home US$36,000 top prize. In an anticlimactic fifth and final match where a dying breeze found rival Bjorn Hansen (SWE) on the wrong side of a huge shift, Italian Paolo Cian and his Team Shosholoza managed to navigate through the zephyrs and win the 2008 Brasil Sailing Cup.... Action in Valencia AC base for TP52 and GP42's,
Despite the fact the America's Cup is currently in a limbo, there is increasing activity going on in Port America's Cup. In addition to BMW Oracle and Alinghi, a score of other teams are using the existing facilities for various TP52 and GP42 projects. One of them is Vasco Vascotto's Mutua Madrileña, whose brand new yacht arrived from Italy last Monday.... [more]
