Editorial: March 31, '08.

An absolutely interest-packed week on Powerboat-World, with news from all corners of the globe.

Check out the impact the internet is having on the marine industry, proof, if it was ever needed, that Rupert Murdoch knew exactly where this technology was headed. Of course where the marine audience is going, advertisers are following. This is a must read for anyone starting to think about company advertising budgets for 08-09

A very practical example of just how the Internet is changing our lives, as we reveal here that NSW Maritime has made a $170,000 investment into web technology aimed at taking the danger out of bar crossing.

Superyachts are all the go, too, even if they're out of our price range; we mention here the current construction of what will become the world's largest privately-owned vessel and can inform you that some long-term superyacht berths will be available (if you're quick!) at the Gold Coast's Southport Yacht Club.

And take a look at some tug boats. Not a misprint, tug boats. These unique and innovative craft are set to make quite a splash on local waterways.

Don't overlook the action from Qatar in the latest round of Formula I excitement and for those who remember the good old days, how about this…..the famous Quintrex Flared Bow is about to celebrate its 40th birthday!
