I'm delighted to be back at the Powerboat-World desk after visiting the Miami International Boat Show, followed by a quick trip down to Sydney for the annual Rosehill Gardens Boat Show.

As usual we have an interest-packed edition with so much happening it's hard to know where to start.

Let's go first up with Miami and we present a brief summation of the largest and most important boating exhibition staged by America's all-powerful National Marine Manufacturers Association.

So much happens at Miami that it would be impossible to reveal all in one edition, so keep an eye on Powerboat-World over coming weeks as we look back over important product releases and announcements made at the 67th Miami International Boat Show.

In Sydney, nearly 6000 boaters turned out for Rosehill with marine dealers displaying a fine range of product.

We take an envious look at Port Stephens and the Riviera Interclub Game Fishing Tournament which began with a spectacular sail past. This event wraps up on Sunday and we will have a ful report next week.

And a brief overview of an offshore race to end all offshore races – how about 1600 nautical miles around Great Britain! It starts on June 21, so be ready, gentlemen, to start your engines.

We have a good news story too after the aweful Whitsunday storms as Australia's largest leisure marine insurer Club Marine was fast on the job. Well done!

We had our storm this week, which is why this newsletter is late. Our IT team ran the latest Microsoft Server security updates. The bugs in the update crashed one of our web servers, then the other. I don't know much about computers but when they said &%$@$$$ Microsoft problem....I understood.

We all back on deck with lots happening ahead of the Offshore Powerboat round on Sydney Harbour next week-end.

Meanwhile, keep your finger(s) on the pulse of the world of Boating and Boats with
