They certainly love their sport, those North Queenslanders. We read regularly of the full house sign going up whenever the Cowboys take on a rival in the National Rugby League, now more than 35,000 have flocked to the foreshores of Cleveland Bay, with Magnetic Island as the backdrop to watch round two of the Offshore Superboat Championships. Good for them. We have the full report here.
Less than a month to the Gold Coast Boat Show, it shaping as a must see for south eastern Queensland boaters.
Also, and we don’t want to ‘put the wind up’ trailer boat owners, but one Sydney council sees trailer boats parked in residential streets as ‘a problem.’ That’s something we’ll keep an ear tuned as this perceived problem will be discussed at the annual conference next month of the Local Government Association.

Yesterday we posted a feature article on fire on boats and within 24 hours, we’ve had two US publications ask for permission to re-print, so it’s definitely worth reading.
This week we welcome BMW to our advertisers list. BMW are big in Motor sport, but they are big in boat racing too, they were heavily involved with the last America’s Cup.
They have created an amusing ad for us. Have a look at it, it’s about the BMW 3 series convertible and Match racing. You will find it at the top of the Powerboat-world page, its part of the rotating ad. series, so you might have to wait for a few others.
Lots of other interesting and fun news this week too.
