Emirates Team New Zealand is supporting the Kiwi Cup Raffle, a nation-wide initiative led by Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.

The nation-wide raffle has a major prize of a trip for two to witness the teams’ defence at the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona including flights, accommodation and more valued at $35,690.

The national initiative was designed to help yacht and sailing clubs, as well as class associations, schools and sailing teams raise much needed funds for the sport of sailing in New Zealand.

“We are very proud of this initiative by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron which ultimately is to raise money for sailing clubs around the country at a grass roots level. This is where New Zealand’s world class sailing talent begins and emerges.” said Grant Dalton CEO of Emirates Team New Zealand. “And two lucky winners will be on an amazing trip to Barcelona to watch us compete in the America’s Cup.”

Tickets are $20 each and purchasers can select a cause to support, with $10 from each ticket sale directly benefiting the nominated club, class association, or team. The remaining proceeds will be allocated towards raffle operational costs and the RNZYS' youth training program.

RNZYS General Manager Sarah Wiblin commented "We know fundraising is challenging for all clubs, especially so in the current climate. As a club, we wanted to create something that gives back to the wider sailing community across New Zealand and creates an opportunity for all clubs to fundraise."

Tickets sales are open from 1st May 2024 and close 24th July with winners drawn on 29th July 2024.

More than 45 sailing clubs, teams and associations have signed up to fundraise.
