Anticipation is building for the 55th edition of Antigua Sailing Week, and local businesses are showing their unwavering support for this iconic national event.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Caribbean Sea, the regatta has become a hallmark of international sailing, attracting sailors and enthusiasts from around the globe. The event is currently anticipating participants from 18 nations and the list of entered boats has already topped 2023 numbers!

This year, a diverse array of local businesses has stepped up to bolster the success of Antigua Sailing Week, demonstrating their confidence in the event and their commitment to the destination. Their contributions extend beyond financial support, showcasing a shared passion for promoting tourism, fostering community engagement, and highlighting Antigua and Barbuda as a premier destination for all things maritime.

Among the businesses lending their support is the Department of Marine Services and Merchant Shipping (ADOMS), the Maritime Administration of Antigua & Barbuda, which believes in the transformative power of events like Antigua Sailing Week to stimulate economic growth and showcase the vast marine support services and amenities that the island has to offer.

"We are thrilled to be part of the 55th Antigua Sailing Week, an event that perfectly aligns with our commitment to promoting our local community and showcasing the extraordinary opportunities that Antigua and Barbuda has to offer," said Katarina McGhie-Thompson, of ADOMS. "Our involvement is not just about sponsorship; it's about being an integral part of an event that brings people together, celebrating the intersection of business, trade, sport and leisure in the maritime industry."

The Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) continues to strongly support the event, upgrading its participation to presenting sponsor of Race Day 3 on Tuesday April 30. The CIU Race Day will see the full day, races and prize-giving, dedicated to the brand which currently ranks 3rd in the Henley Global Citizenship Program Index.

Award winning group Tarsier Strategy are also onboard providing creative marketing and advertising support for the event

Antigua Luxury Vans, a newly established luxury transportation service, is proudly supporting the regatta as part of their strategy to align themselves within the bespoke services scene while introducing themselves to an international audience.

"We believe in the power of partnerships and are excited to contribute to an event that not only showcases b ut also supports the local economy."

Neighbourhood businesses TiTi Car Rental and Carib Bean Coffee return to join other established enterprises which include Antigua Distillery, Anjo Wholesale Ltd, Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort, APUA Inet, Budget Marine and CalvinAir. The collective support from businesses underscores the integral role that the private sector plays in the success of Antigua Sailing Week.

Antigua Sailing Week organizers express their sincere appreciation to these businesses for their commitment. "It takes an island to ensure the continued success and growth of our very own internationally acclaimed regatta. We are grateful for the support provided by each and every partner" says ASW Event Manager, Rana-Jamila Lewis.
