IRC East Coast Championship Day 1

After yesterday's wet and chilly race day, the fleet were blessed with bright sunshine and clear blue skies. The racers were set courses around the Quern area; IRC 8.8nm, Classes 4, 5, & 6 7.9nm and Class 7 5.85nm.

The light winds meant that the Race Officer foreshortened all courses, which was, yet again, the right call at the time. The support Rib, Blue Dragon, finished the cruisers out at the Stonar mark and the IRC classes were finished by the shoreside Race Hut. As is typical with our unpredictable British weather, the breeze started to fill in as the last competitors were finishing.

Today's racing was sponsored by North Sails and Icom - our Regatta radio comms supplier.
