MarsKeel Technology Partners with Scarano Boats
We are excited to share the successful completion of our latest project in collaboration with Scarano Boat Building Inc. This venture involved crafting an 88' long, plank-on-frame, and fiberglass-sheathed hull, 2-masted schooner ideal for sailing excursions.
The keel was meticulously cast from ballast antimonial lead, weighing 28,930 lbs., and measuring approximately 19' long, 2" wide, and 3' tall. The keel also boasts 11 duplex SS keel bolts with custom machined hex nuts for exceptional durability.
The process commenced with the reception of detailed keel geometry and bolt positions from Scarano's design office. MarsKeel took on the responsibility of in-house tooling and fixturing design, encompassing molding and pattern making with precise engineering to deliver exceptional results.
