Possibly Father's Day and the forecast put a few people off, nevertheless there was some exciting racing to be had. All three races were back to back followed by baguettes and free afternoon tea; all very civilised.

The wind was blowing from the South, West, North and occasionally from the East as forecast, 0-12 knots, it was going to be a testing day!

Race 1 was extraordinary, we left the line and pretty much all went in different directions, Commodore Pete sailed the whole leg without tacking somehow and got a massive lead Tony went round the windward mark next followed by Charis, Tim, Colin and Ian altogether as a tight knit group.

We all know the perils of a big lead in such treacherous conditions, unluckily Pete sat in hole which he had no control over and Tony found a bit of wind to the East and sailed past, Colin also found a bit and managed to break from the group. We finished: Tony, Pete, Colin.

Race 2 looked to be a similar affair this time Colin flew off the line and up the first beat while the rest of us followed. Gradually we all crept up on each other to make for some exciting racing there was four of us grouped together Ian, Pete, Tony and Colin and we all lead for a bit but we finally finished: Tony, Colin, Pete.

Last race saw a change of course and the wind picking up nicely it was Southerly now and a steady(ish) 10 knots. Pete lead round the windward mark, Colin was next followed by Tim, Tony hit a big header and went for a swim (I could hear you all laughing)...

A few changes of places but we couldn't catch Pete and we finished: Pete Tony Colin.

A special thanks to all the volunteers for the day Micky as RO (made a difficult day look easy)! Assisted by Chris and Vernon, with Paul and Andy on safety, special thanks to Leo, David Reekie, Vince, Pete and Jess for sorting food/bar/boats and general logistics and organisation!
