The Amel 50 will be available to inspect with experts to discuss the unique features of the brand and ownership opportunities either in Australia or Europe. The company are happy that a tumultuous two years have gladly passed. During this time, they have been busy having sold five new Amel yachts. Three have already been handed over this year: one locally in Sydney and two to Australians in Amel's hometown, La Rochelle.

Another two new Amel 50s will be handed over in the next 8 months to adventurous Australians planning to sail the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Pacific. The Amel 50 is the yacht of choice for these owners being safe, luxurious and importantly featuring a fully protected centre cockpit with electric sailing controls that enables short-handed cruising anywhere in the world.

Amel hand-craft only 15 Amel 50s and 4 Amel 60s a year, and have been able to maintain their high-end production without delays during the global supply crisis. Both the Amel 50 and Amel 60 have been awarded "European Luxury Yachts of the Year", along with many other accolades. Please contact Flagstaff Marine for more information on Amel Yachts.

The Marina Industries Association (MIA) continue to promote high marina standards and have made their latest award. They are pleased to announce the continued expansion of the Gold Anchor program with Mackay Marina Village the latest Australian marina to be earn a coveted Gold Anchor accreditation. The beautiful and well-maintained Mackay Marina Village is conveniently located six kilometres from the centre of Mackay.

It not only provides a vital anchorage for local commercial and recreational vessels, as the gateway to playgrounds of Far North Queensland and the Coral Sea, the marina provides boaters with a great place to stop for maintenance and provisions for those making their way up the coast. It is also a popular port of entry for overseas cruising yachts. The expansive marina has over 400 berths for all types of vessels ranging from 10m up to 55m, and includes a variety of marine businesses, hospitality venues, and a Mantra Hotel.

In New Zealand the MIA has also announced a further expansion of the Gold Anchor program with Westhaven Marina in Auckland being awarded with the 4 Gold Anchor accreditation. The Global Gold Anchor is an international accreditation which requires a rigorous assessment of a marina's services, procedures and facilities. It involves an independent audit of 86 criteria across all areas of the business, plus a customer survey. The accreditation aims to inform consumers as to the level of services and facilities at marinas and to provide marinas with a set of benchmarks to maintain and a pathway for continual improvement.
