Russian National Sailing League stage 3 in Kazan

Russian most prestigious sailing project, the National Sailing League, held a regatta in the hospitable city of Kazan this week. Races for all three divisions - First, Second and Junior - were held in the heart of Tatarstan Republic. Administration of Tatarstan Republic helped with organization of the event. General partner of the project was JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation.
Participants of the First and Junior Divisions competed in races from 31st May to 2nd June. The conditions on Nizhny Kaban Lake were unpredictable, but the race committee managed to hold 29 races, less than usual. Nevertheless, races were dramatic, unpredictable and nervous.
The winner of the regatta was 'Lord of the Sail - Asia' team from Yekaterinburg. Vyacheslav Ermolenko's team showed a great teamwork and left no chance for rivals! Chechen Republic's team 'Akhmat' were second, for the second time in a row. 'Burevestnik Sailing Team' won the bronze medal. The Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Republic, Albert Karimov, handed trophies to the winners.
On Children's Day Junior Division's participants started their races. 34 young sportsmen from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Samara, Zelenodolsk and Elabuga competed in nine races over two days. The leader among girls and overall is Maya Dubovich from Samara. Silver and bronze medals won representatives from Tatarstan Republic - Liana Akhmadulina and Marina Ursu. Among boys the winner is Kirill Pichugin from Zelenodolsk. Ivan Guzhov was second, Arthur Metelev third.
