At 0700hrs (French time) this morning, Francis Le Goff, the race director, told all competitors by VHF that the course for Stage 1 of Stage 1 of La Solitaire URGO Le Figaro is shortened.

Alternative course 1B has been deployed, removing the leg from Portsall to turn at Guernsey. This changes the original 543 nautical miles stage to 475 nautical miles. The O Flag was flown on the Etoile, Race Direction's boat which means the fleet race to the finish line at Saint-Quay-Portrieux, before docking in the Port du Légué in Saint-Brieuc. So there are about 90 miles to race along the coast of northern Brittany which is well known to the Figarists, with still many strategic options, strong currents with a coefficient that today reaches 86 and light winds. The ETA for the first boats on the line is now between 3am and 6am French time.
