Day three of the RS200 National Championships - one more of Redemption than Groundhog, certainly for several more wholesome members of the fleet... think Jurassic Pork.

For your humble correspondent, after two days of snuffling and truffling around within the entrails of the fleet, finally, clear air, legs stretched, and life got a whole deal easier. Certainly better than standing up against the wall in a fecund protest room - turns out the fleet discipline has come on leaps and bounds, except maybe for yours truly. Go figure. Anyway, the rumours are true, I did take an angle grinder to my mast last night. Didn't do it anything but good, it seems.

As we bobbed around over the well named Lulworth Banks, the fleet had a good couple of hours to take in the scenery before racing started. Julian Bradley of this parish, who has been known to take an interest in extinct organic life forms, tells me that rough weather does tend to make more Jurassic fossils appear - such as the starfish urchin.

Attention soon turned to racing, with Oli Turner - "he's practically naked" -, Pete Vincent, Tom Hewitson and Jack Holden showing up well in the increasing breeze. Right was generally the bell to ring. Results below.

Particular mentions to the race committee, once again putting on some seamless, excellent racing. They're starting a boat every 2 seconds and finishing one every 3 seconds, such is the closeness of racing. And on a shifty day, extra props to the mark layers whose biceps gave us fair racing even with some big swings in the wind. Beers all round!

Now for the fancy dress international party - obviously Die Schnellwurst Mannschaft will be in attendance. But first a correction from yesterday's report - Ben Palmer (reigning National Champion) has been in touch via SatPhone from the Southern Ocean to clarify that he's not actually in Weymouth this week.
