A dull sky but reasonable breeze greeted the 17 competitors who arrived in the starting area for race 5 of the LTSC Sunday Early Summer Points Series.

With the wind almost due west, race officer Richard Lilley made use of Plus Mark (BHG), a movable mark and Jack in the Basket. To add a bit of challenge the movable mark was laid at such an angle that the asymmetric were unable to fly their spinnakers. The Contender, sailed by David Gautier, was first to the top mark, closely followed by the rest of the fleet that was packed together in hot pursuit.

In the medium fleet the race was dominated by the Tasar (Richard Russell ans Sylvia Weger) and the Farr 3.7 (Myles Mence) who had sailed over from Yarmouth to join the race. Race 2 saw Liam Willis in his RS400 pull off a near perfect port tack flyer, being just seconds too early to the line. Liam held the lead to the end benefiting from spinnaker trouble aboard the RS400 of Rob & Jan Martin. In the Medium Fleet Pete Barton (RS Aero 7) timed he start to perfecting arriving in the start area with just a minute to spare.

The perfectly laid start line enabled the fleet to split between port and startboard starts. The race was dominated by the Tasar, Farr 3.7 and the RS Aero, who did 3 laps whilst the remainder of the fleet completed 2 laps.

We would like to thank Harken who have generously donated prizes for this series.
