Saturday 3rd October saw the Island Sailing Club hosting its final weekend of the Inshore Series, the race to Nab Tower! With practically no wind forecast it was difficult to set the course, and the destination of Nab Tower, some 15nm from Cowes (30nm round trip) drifted into impossibility. The Race team were determined to create a race and in 5 knots gusting 6 knnots and a local round the cans race was set.

Another local race committee, with racers destined for Owers East of Selsey Bill (50nm distance) ended their race before the Nab Tower race and were back in the bar before our competitors!

In the end the 2 lap race, in variably light winds, finished at the end of the first circuit leaving a spread, in both classes on elapsed times, between first and last boat of approximately one hour and twenty minutes.

Prize giving followed at the Island Sailing Club.
