The Pendennis Cup is organised by Pendennis Shipyard, Falmouth every two years and welcomes an impressive fleet of modern and classic 30m+ sailing yachts to Falmouth for four days of dramatic racing, with this year's Regatta taking place from 26th-31st May. To celebrate the conclusion of a dramatic week of sailing the Pendennis team has recruited the Red Arrows to fly over Falmouth. As the final race is completed on Saturday 31st May the yachts will anchor off Gyllyngvase Beach at which point the Red Arrows will fly overhead, with the display visible from Pendennis Point and along the main town beaches.

Mike Carr, Managing Director, explains "Throughout the history of the Pendennis Cup local businesses, Falmouth town management and the public have been extremely supportive of our event and the shipyard. Recruiting the Red Arrows to provide a spectacular finish to the Pendennis Cup 2014 is a thank you from Pendennis Shipyard to everyone involved."

The Pendennis Cup gives yacht Owners, guests and crews a chance to experience the very best in Cornish cuisine and hospitality. This year the Regatta will see 10 yachts with a total length of over 300m follow a course from Falmouth to The Manacles stretching to Gul Rock off the Roseland, with the racing managed by the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club. Pendennis Shipyard developed close ties with the Reds over the last few years and they have supported the British Superyacht industry at several events abroad including the Monaco Yacht Show.

Richard Gates, Town Manager, commented 'Falmouth has enjoyed seeing the Red Arrows visit Cornwall in previous years, and the bay certainly provides a different stunning backdrop for their display compared to the harbour during Falmouth Week. It is fantastic news for Falmouth and Cornwall that we are able to benefit from experiencing their extraordinary acrobatics twice in one year!"

Further details about the regatta and the Red Arrows display times will follow in a future release, and will be published on the Pendennis Cup website, www.thependenniscup.com
