Richard Russell was the race officer this Wednesday with John Whyte as his assistant. There were 46 boats signed up, 10 fast 16 medium 9 slow and 11 Wayfarers. Another good turn out although not a record.

The tide would be flooding all the way and the wind was coming from the East 10 knots gusting 13. If the sun had come out it it would have been much more pleasant.

In the fast fleet the flying try 18 of John Levell & Steve Homewood were first back followed by Nigel Walbank in his Musto Skiff, third was Kevin Podger & Heather Chipperfield In their RS 400. With the handicaps of the Try and Skiff though, the first two would not appear on the rostrum. Handicap honours went to Kevin & Heather 1st, John Cooper & Becci Wigley 2nd, & Keith & Julie Willis 3rd, all in RS 400's.

The Wayfarers had a straight forward race with all boats finishing within 10 minutes or so. Clive Taylor & D Stokes took the win from Marcus Malanaphy & Eve Blachford with John Stevens & F Stevens third.

The Medium fleet had a mixed evening with some confusion as to the correct course. First home was Mark Barwell & Louise Johnson in their Merlin Rocket. Second was Stuart Watson in his Blaze with Nick Fagan in another blaze third. The first two positions remained the same but M Ansell & C Maguire would snatch third on handicap when the handicaps were applied.

In the slow fleet James Eales & Henry Collings in their Feva took line honours with Jude Massey & Henry Collinson in their Cadet second. Third was Robby Boyd in his RS Terra. These positions remained he same after handicapping.
