Gul the UK leading watersports company is delighted to announce the support of a ‘Corinthian’ Melges 24 Team.
The Falmouth based team, who go by the name of ‘Team Blue Racing’, comprises of Tim Cunliffe, the owner and Skipper, who along with fellow team members, John Wilson, Ifor Pedley, Jonny Vivian and Phil Badger will be competing in the Corinthian division of all the European Melges 24 Regattas. These team members include former professional sailors who have competed and won numerous national championships and have now moved on to more conventional walks of life.
The team are using the Gul Code Zero kit, which is ideal for the Melges 24 as it is light, flexible and extremely waterproof.
The Corinthian division is open to all non-professional teams and is a hotly contested sub-division of Melges racing. Their first event is the ‘Round the Island Race’ on the 20th June with the main focus on the Europeans held in Hyeres in the South of France in August with 120 boats expected to take part.
