Volvo Series 2011 gets off to a great start

First day - 2011 Volvo Series Ripon Sailing Club
Volvo Series 2011 sponsered by Craftinsure was held at Ripon LEA Sailing Club. The sponsorship from Craftinsure provided rash vests for the 18 junior helms who took part in the first day of racing. It got the racing off to a great start.

Proudly wearing their new ‘team’ colours the fleet attended an on shore briefing and then took to the water in very windy conditions under the guidance of club Race Coach Rob Paterson, assisted by Craftinsure’s Katy Phillips.

Further on the water coaching was provided by club Race Coach Bernard Clark and Dinghy Instructor Andy Clark who also provided safety cover for the fleet, rescuing a number of helms who abandoned ship or capsized in the very gusty Ripon Sailing Club website
