World debut for Clipper Hudson Bay at Sanctuary Cove

by Imprint Media on 19 Dec 2011
The latest addition to Clipper’s range, the Hudson Bay 50, will debut at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show. Clipper Motor Yachts
Clipper Motor Yachts’ new Hudson Bay 50 will be a highlight of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May next year; not simply a new model but a completely new line for the renowned builder of classic motor yachts.

'We are really excited about this new line,' said Clipper Motor Yachts Australia Managing Director, Brett Thurley. 'The company has spent a great deal of time and energy to ensure this new model combines the classic lines for which Clippers are renowned with the relaxed lifestyle aspects of a sedan cruiser.'

The first of the new line, a Hudson Bay 50, is designed around a single-level family and entertaining area stretching from the aft cockpit protected by a generous overhang of the hard top through the galley and saloon and dinette. It includes three cabins and two bathrooms in the accommodation suite.

Thurley said: 'We have combined a layout and features that will focus on families getting away and staying on board while offering a comprehensive range of contemporary features.

'These include a combined teppanyaki and lava rock barbecue, sliding sunroof and large portlights in the hull that provide incredible light to the accommodation suite.

The new Hudson Bay features a revolutionary new hydraulic swim platform with a centre section that can be with raised or lowered to make swimming on and off the boat simpler or to launch water toys.

A second model in the line, a Hudson Bay 54, is already under development at the company’s factory.

The Clipper on-water display will include three boats: the new Hudson Bay, a Cordova 45 first released at Sanctuary Cove this year and a Cordova 48.
