Sorry for thenon newsletter on Monday, at the tail of this newsletter we will explain why..

Now lets move along ...The Sail-World team is in Valencia Spain this week, the home of the Volvo Ocean Race, working our tails off, but enjoying the winter sunshine, the tapas and the vino tinto. This is the home of the Finn class in Europe.

We will head to Palma, Mallorca for the third ISAF World Sailing Cup event on Friday. This is a very significant event, it’s the first regatta on the European circuit and lots of keen players from around the world are throwing their hat into the ring looking for a good start to their 2016 Olympic campaign.

Off to a fast start this year in the Finn class Australia's own Brendan Casey, currently listed asWorld number one in the Finn Class. We hope Brendan has a great regatta and holds the lead heading into Hyeres.

The Australian Sailing Squad representation will be of special interest in Palma. This will be the first European event for the Nacra 17s and the 49er FX so it’s going to be a fascinating event.

Then it's up to Madrid and a flight back to Oz, for Sail Port Stephens which is only a few weeks away. Enter now at www.sailportstephens.com.au

Note well there are still some berths available at Soldiers Point and the Anchorage marinas for SPS so its not to late the grab them!!

Australian 18ft Skiff League Club Championship 2013. Gotta Love It 7 made a clean sweep of the 2012-2013 Season championships when she took out the final race and the Australian 18 Footers League Club Championship on Sydney Harbour on the weekend

There was quite a reshuffle on the boat, with regular skipper Seve Jarvin moving to bow today with regular forward hand crewman Peter Harris missing from the team, World Moth champion Josh McKnight joined the Gotta Love It 7 crew for the race as sheet hand and Scott Babbage the Moth Worlds runner up and regular sheet hand on GLI7 helming the skiff to victory.

The America´s Cup preparations continuing to fascinate. Nathan Outteridge had the Artemis AC45 up on the foils on her first outing. Artemis are certainly on the back foot still waiting for their reconfigured AC72 with foils to emerge from the shed, but if anyone can get them on the foils and back on track it will be Nath.

More news from Auckland and a video interview with Jimmy Spithill where he expands on some of the ground he covered with Sail-World a few weeks ago.

And on the Nerd scene - Major upgrade in progress - We have been experiencing rapid growth across the whole Sail-world network world-wide over the last three months, with smart phones and tablets everywhere and we are currently adding another two servers to speed up the sites.

We were not able to send you a newsletter on Monday, as we busy doing critical data transfers. Right now some elements of the site may still be a little slow to load or show errors as our team is still working to bring everything on line. Please bear with us.

We will be bring more new servers online in the next few days and our upgraded system will be significantly faster to load.

But right now if you listen very carefully, with sound up loud or with headset on, you may hear the sounds of jackhammers and concrete mixers from behind the temporary walls, or if it’s a smoko break, you might just hear the whirring of the propellers on the hats of our IT team. But then again you may not. (;--)

Gosh that last bit might have been best kept for another five days...
