Team SCA’s Libby Greenhalgh was ‘stoked’ and ‘excited’ to hear the news that her older brother, Rob Greenhalgh is going to join the crew of Mapfre for Volvo Ocean Race.
'He called to ask what I thought. He helped me loads to make my own decision to join Team SCA, so it was great to be able to do it back to him and that he valued my opinion. I texted him after the call with the same message that he sent me - ‘Just do it!’
'When I started this project I thought it would be really good if my brother was doing it as well - one for the shared experiences, and the other to be able to have those conversations when you get ashore with your brother, which is pretty special. You can’t match that!
'I will probably be checking what Mapfre is doing and I have no doubt he will have a big impact on the performance of that boat. There will be a good bit of rivalry but we are supportive of each other and want the best for each other.
'Our parents will be super proud. The reason we are all sailors is because of our parents. The reason that we have done so much so much, been allowed to do so much and been supported so much is because of Team SCA website
