Trofeo S.A.R. Princesa Sofía - Mallorca 2014
Trofeo S.A.R. Princesa Sofía - Mallorca 2014 - Ferran Muniesa, CEO Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia, will welcome a very competitive fleet.

Just a few days until the start of the ISAF SWC Mallorca – 45 Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofía. Ferran Muniesa, the event CEO, checks all the steps made in the countdown to one of the major regular sports events held in Spain. The Organizing Committee is working hard to deliver an excellent edition to be held from 29th March to 5 April in the venues of Club Nàutic S’Arenal and Club Marítimo San Antonio dela Playa.

What are your expectations for this edition?

As far as entries are concerned, we will be welcoming a very competitive fleet in Mallorca. Last year, being a Post-Olympic year we had an incredible number of entries and a high quality fleet. We could say that after the post-Olympic rest, this is the first season towards Río 2016, so we expect to see all the teams starting the Olympic campaign in Mallorca.

The Trofeo Princesa Sofía is still an ISAF Sailing World Cup event in 2014.

Yes, under the name ISAF Sailing World Cup Mallorca. It is the last year of the agreement and we will have to wait for the new format proposed by ISAF for the coming years. We clearly want to continue offering sailors one of the best events in the world, for its climate, weather conditions for sailing, infrastructures and organizing level. The Trofeo Princesa Sofía is a strong brand that has been growing with the enthusiasm and effort of all its human team and has become a sailors’ event.

Any new things for this edition?

We will be providing live information on the development of races and, therefore, a new technology system is being developed which will surely attract the interest of the sailing community and public in general.
