Tour de France a la Voile - We bid you all adieu

'Tour de France a la Voile 2013'    @JM LIOT / TFV / ASO

In the Tour de France a la Voile, a very competitive fleet and stunning sailing conditions made for a great Tour 2013. All twelve teams are now packing their M34 boats before hitting the road and preparing the 2014 edition.

The final pro-am race was cancelled today in Marseille because of strong winds and a thunderstorm alert, in contrast to the light sailing conditions the sailors have enjoyed most of this Tour.

Beat and tired after a month of racing from Dunkirk to Marseille, 11 stopovers and 37 races, each of the 12 teams has summed up their Tour to us in five thoughts (see below). See you next year!

Five words about the Tour de France à la Voile 2013:

Tanguy Cariou, Groupama 34 tactician: 'Victory, team, good work, atmosphere, race route.'

Daniel Souben, Courrier Dunkerque 3 skipper: 'Friendliness, competition, difficulty, pleasure, coming back.'

Félix Pruvot, Bretagne Crédit Mutuel Elite helsman: 'Great experience, exceptional conditions, downwind sailing, good times, happy.'

Jean-Luc Nélias, Sodebo navigator: 'Coastline, France, competition, education, diet!'

Cédric Pouligny, Team OmanSail skipper: 'Challenging, tanned, tough competition, ups and downs, good times.'

Martin Le Pape, TPM-Coych navigator: 'Sunny, light airs, stimulating, friendliness, competition.'

Ville de Genève Carrefour Addictions team: 'Intense, stimulating, frustrating, downwind, pleasure.'

Gildas Mahé, Nantes St Nazaire E.Leclerc: 'Tough competition, dominated, disappointing, good times, want to come back.'

Benoit Charon, Normandie manager: 'Guillaume, Bertrand, Baptiste, Arthur and co.'

Christiane Dittmers, Iskareen co-skipper: 'Challenging, demanding, fun, downwind sailing, building a team, big family.'

Martinique BE Brussels team: 'Martinique, light airs, spinnaker, fun, heavy on the rail!'

Bienne Voile – SRS team: 'Amazing holidays and that’s all!'
