The Dehler is back – and winning already!

The New Dehler 35 was launched on Sydney’s Pittwater this week. This heralds the return of this respected brand to Australia. Under the dealership of the successful yacht importers, Windcraft, the brand is expected to make a significant impact on the club racing scene in Australia.

Winning Already - the Dehler 35 has already claimed its first major title. In the Kiel Cup, racing in the International Inshore German Championship in ORCi the little boat outclassed stiff competition to win its class. This was in very light conditions.

The Dehler factory is understandably proud of this achievement as the win underlies the company slogan – When Passion meets Reason. The reason that the construction process takes no shortcuts is the passion for speed and safety. Laminating the hull and deck together is a labour intensive and costly affair, but Dehler say they will always make that extra effort to ensure total strength and robustness.

The hand laid balsa sandwich construction creates exceptionally rigid, but light hulls. A narrow beam design and torpedo keel with low centre of gravity suggests that the Dehler 35 will be seen leading the fleets in Australian waters this summer.

Standard Boat Price of $259,000 with tri-radial North’s sails and lead bulb keel. On display at the Sydney International Boat Show.

Windcraft Australia Pty Ltd is the importer of Dehler Yachts for Australia and New Zealand. Head office is located on Sydney’s Pittwater, contact 02 9979 1709.
