Westlake Boys High School (7 wins) and Mahurangi College(6 wins) lie second and third respectively.
Racing commenced on Monday in a stiff south westerly that saw delay to the start of racing due to the 'sea state' causing havoc with the change over barge. Once underway it was Lake Taupo at its best, some chop, some rolling waves to surf and solid 15 knots plus making for some spectacular racing. However when racing resumed on Tuesday morning, it lacked any punch and eventually racing had to be abandoned shortly after the start of round robin 2.
The big improvers were Kings College who made it up out of Silver Fleet into Bronze and Wentworth College from Bronze to Silver.
On the downward slide were New Plymouth Boys dropping down from Gold to Silver and new comers Macleans – unable to continue their promising form from the regionals, slipping from Silver to Bronze.
Racing resumes Wednesday morning with an early start to make up for the time lost on Tuesday. More light winds are in the forecast for the rest of the week which will keep race officials on their toes if the busy schedule is to run to plan.
