An update on the emergency closure of part of the recreational rock lobster fishery from the Recreational Fisheries Section of DPIPWE:
Recreational Fishery re-opens above St Helens Point
The commercial and recreational rock lobster fisheries from St Helens Point north to Waterhouse Island will reopen on 7.00am, Saturday 19 January 2013. The remainder of the current closed area lower on the east coast remains closed.
The area remaining closed to recreational and commercial rock lobster fishing from 19 January 2013 is from St Helens Point from the northern opening of Georges Bay (all waters south of 41° 16' 17') to the southern end of Marion Bay at 40° 49'.
