'Sydney Harbour Regatta'    Craig Greenhill

The Middle Harbour Yacht Club (MHYC) will host the 2012 Sydney Harbour Regatta which is set to run from Saturday 10 to Sunday 11 March, 2012. The Sydney Harbour Regatta is an iconic landmark sailing event for Sydney, with over 220 yachts and 2,500 crew members competing inshore and offshore, over two days of racing, on 10 course areas and up to 26 divisions spread across Sydney Harbour and offshore along the Sydney coast line.

The event attracts the most prestigious racing yachts and the most popular international yacht racing classes, including one-design.

Racing commences from 1130am for the Ocean Passage Race and 1200pm for most of the other classes/divisions.

Spectators will enjoy a colourful feast of sails from various vantage points on the Harbour foreshores and viewing craft on the water. Best vantage points to witness the action include Bradleys Head, Middle Head, North and South Heads, Balgowlah Heights, Vaucluse and Watsons Bay.

Entertainment on the beach at Middle Harbour Yacht Club each evening from 4.30pm to 8.30pm. Saturday night live entertainment with Atomic and Sunday night live entertainment and prize presentation with the Wolverines.
