Swan Super Lines - Master Your Boat and auction of Flamingo Bay

by Jeni Bone on 4 Aug 2013
Flamingo Bay Adventure Ship Jeni Bone
Ian Swan, director at Swan Super Lines, is in Sydney meeting clients and colleagues, ahead of the October 7 auction on the Gold Coast of the one-of-a-kind explorer ship, Flamingo Bay, which has already created plenty of interest.

'We have had a lot of enquiry,' he told MarineBusiness-World.com. 'It will be sold, come October. This is the ideal opportunity to own a priceless piece of history.'

As well as running his brokerage and representing Powerplay Catamarans in Australia, Ian is running 'Master Your Boat' sessions for boat owners and family members to gain confidence in handling their boats, with safety and enjoyment.

'In half day or full day sessions, we help people gain confidence to manage their new purchase, or maybe brush up their skills. Maybe people want to be more proficient when berthing or tying up, or in radio operation for VHF.

'We also help them with the procedure to cross the Southport Bar, what safety gear is required on Broadwater and what is required outside, as well as tips on where to boat and what services are available on the water, such as fueling, stores and other gear.'

With Ian are Peter Donahue and Rhys Bohman who offer instruction for tenders and trailerable boats up to motor yachts and superyachts.

Peter is the captain of MY Eagle One, a 30m tri-deck luxury charter yacht and Rhys is captain of MY Seven Star, 98 Azimut luxury charter yacht.

Ian Swan is ex-military, Army Water transport and amphibious craft operator with experience on work boats, plus five tours of Antarctica. You couldn't be in safer, more experienced hands!
