Soto 40 South American Tour - Coming soon

by Soto 40 on 21 Dec 2014
The secondstage of the Soto 40 South American Tour is coming up Soto 40 Class
The second stage of the Soto 40 South American Tour is coming up next and will be held in Algarrobo, Chile from 24 - 31 January. More than eight yachts are expected to take part in the Chille Sailing Week, a competition noted for its level of competition and close racing, where success is characterized by consistency, precision and teamwork.

After Chile Sailing week, the third stage is going to be noticed with more than eleven yachts confirmed competing for the first position in Punta Del Este, Uruguay from 5 - 8 March. This event, strategically located will have different social events, such as the launching of the Soto 40 World Championship.

The final stage of the Soto40 South American Tour will be the World Championship in Brazil between 12 to 16 of April with more than thirteen yacht between the locals, the South American and the European, all competing to be the World Champion. This event will have the final decision of who is going to the crowned with the World Champion title, the same one that British Tony Buckingham’ Ngoni won this year.

'The Worlds proved that the main factor to achieve a fleet like the one we have nowadays is the absolute equality in the construction of the boats. Teamwork is a key component of the Soto40. The class rules are tightly drawn to create a level playing field. The competing yachts are identical, required to comply with strict one-design rules concerning the number and size of sails, safety equipment, deck hardware, boat ant total crew weight. The class also has charters to rent, a full new opportunity for those who are wondering what it’s like to feel that adrenaline and passion. As a number of the owners are significant figures in business, the Soto 40 South American Tour provides a unique meeting of the corporate and sporting world' said Lucas Ezequiel Vescio, secretary of the class.

The Worlds 2015 edition promises to live up to the regatta’s elevated standards. The crews are expected to sail in a contest where the margins between success and failure are precarious.
