Rogers IRC 46 Rogers yacht Design
Rogers Yacht Design, a UK yacht design company based in Lymington, Hampshire, UK, has announced the launch of a new carbon IRC 46, the first of which is currently in build at Composite Marine International in Thailand.

Due for completion in May 2006, Danebury Vineyards, also located in Hampshire, has purchased the first of the new female-moulded racing yachts, which they plan to campaign on the UK IRC circuit in 2006. Another three IRC 46s have also been sold in Britain, with further orders pending worldwide.

'This design is more akin to a small TP52 than a traditional IRC yacht, guaranteeing a fast, and controllable ride in a yacht that is less than half the price of a TP52,' says the company. 'This new breed of IRC yacht built entirely of carbon/foam/epoxy offers stunning custom build quality at production yacht prices, with a competitive IRC rating, thus proving that you can have your cake and eat it!'

Priced at £335,000 (excluding sails and taxes), the new IRC 46 can be delivered to most major shipping ports in North America and Europe, and is shipped with B&G Hercules/mast wand/performance processors/ 4 x 20 20s, carbon rig and boom, Harken winches, deck gear and shipping cradle.
