Want to improve your sailing skills? Then a visit to the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show 2014 is a must.

Alongside the hundreds of exhibitors showcasing the latest boats and classic designs, kit, gear and gadgets, loads of great activities, competitions and events for visitors to enjoy the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show has some amazing talks and coaching sessions lined up.

Running throughout the weekend the free main stage talks and interactive coaching sessions provide visitors will access to wealth of information and advice from a host of sailing experts that can really make a difference to your skills out on the water.

Here we unveil our speaker line up for 2014:

Dave Hivey – RYA UK National Coach Feva Class Association

Skiff Tactics – learn more about asymmetric tactics; when to gybe, high or low modes and some techniques to help.

 

Steve Cockerill – Former RS and Laser Radial National Champion and founder of Rooster Sailing

Top tips from the ‘Boat Whisperer’ – sailors of all levels will benefit from this talk, demonstrating how some boats sail faster than others for no more than better technique.

 

Clive Grant – RYA Powerboat Trainer & Coach Assessor, Army Sailing Association

Safety Boat Specification - Giving Sailing Clubs and Club Bosuns an expert guide as to what the key considerations should be when looking for a new safety boat. In association with Suzuki Marine.

 

Shoreham Youth Team – Sonar Sailors

OnBoard to the World Championships - Hear about their experiences of going from the RYA OnBoard scheme through to the 2013 Sonar Worlds in New York.

 

Vicki Sheen – Double World Blind Sailing Champion

Rig Tuning - Top tips on how to set up your rig for various conditions. This is a hugely popular and informative demonstration using a fully rigged RS200.

 

Adam Bowers – Sailing coach

Start sailing - Learn the basics before you get afloat: Points of sail, wind direction, steering and jargon explained.

 

Chris Watts – RYA Race Officials Education Officer

Racing rules - Swot up on the latest rules and how they could affect you – submit your questions on the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show Facebook page before the show!

 

Alan Williams – RYA Optimist UK and Junior Squad Head Coach

Tactics - No other sport requires the combination of so many elements as sailboat racing, which includes - strategy, boat preparation, boat handling, starting, speed, and most importantly tactics around the race course.

 

Matt McGovern – RYA Youth Squad Physiotherapist & Conditioning Coach
