Professional Kiteracers reveal trio of events for 2014

With the 2013 Professional Kiteracing season completed and another outstanding season to look back on, athletes and fans alike are already looking forward to the 2014 tour season with all the usual suspense and excitement to come.
The Professional Kite Racing Association is now happy to announce a few important updates regarding the 2014 tour schedule, rule changes, and other pertinent rider information.
Today, the PKRA is pleased to reveal the first three events of the upcoming 2014 tour season. Kicking off 2014 will be a new event for the PKRA at Nitro City, Panama, February 18 – 23.
Next up will be the flat-water paradise of the lagoon found in Dakhla, Morrocco, March 18 – 23. Finally, Mondial Du Vent, one of the longest running and most prestigious kiteboarding events, will then take place on April 26-May 4 in Leucate, France.
The complete and official calendar for the 2014 tour season will be published January 21, 2014 with some fresh and exotic locations, as well as many of the established and much loved classic events. With so many new riders as well as returning tour veterans, 2014 is going to see many talented athletes battling for the world title.
Also, the official online voting results for the PKRA riders committee are in. The committee shall consist of: Aaron Hadlow, Gisela Pulido, and Christophe Tack.
Pertaining to rule changes, the following rules were voted in and will be implemented in 2014:
-Any Hinterberger Mobe attempt will be scored as a Hinterberger Mobe. However, if not performing a proper Raley prior to the rotation, scoring will be significantly lower.
-The number of pre-qualified riders was changed to top 12 and two wildcards for the men and top six and one wildcard for the women.?
-Regarding the switch rule, the vote came to a tie. As such, new vote will decide this Pro Kite Tour
