Another outstanding result for Hamish Pepper and David Giles winning the race on Day 3 of the Bacardi Cup in the waters of Biscayne Bay, Miami.
After a long day on the water Hamish Pepper said, 'It was another tricky day. We managed to have a really good start at the boat end and could decide which direction to take up the first beat.'
'It was pretty shifty and we probably played it a little too conservatively. The people who hit the right hand side hard led to the top mark. We made it in fourth with Freddy Loof in second.'
'From here on in Freddy and I had a good tussle while being able to overtake the Argentinean who was in first place.
We battled it out both taking turns at the lead. Finally though David and I managed to hold the lead on the final run and extended up the last beat to cross the finish line first..'
Pepper has maintained his overall first position on 6 points with Freddy Loof from Sweden still in second place on 12 points. Ian Murray from Australia has also retained his third placing with 17 points.
This is the half waypoint with three more races to bring the regatta to a close on Friday.
