Pacer Nationals 2013 - Local sailor advantage pays off
|
Pacer Nationals 2013 is starting to shape up as Alan and Nathan Riley 2847 continued to tighten their grip on the top spot with another bullet for 10 points while Murray and Liam O’Brien still placed second on 16 points despite suffering a disappointing fourth place finish in Race 7. After seven races Alan and Nathan Riley 2847 have started to pull ahead of the rest of the Pacer fleet with another bullet today they are on 10 points, Murray and Liam O’Brien 2941 in second on 16 points the local knowledge is starting to pay off. O’Brien was disappointed with his finish in race 7, he was leading the fleet up the second work when weed caught on his rudder and slowed him and with the fleet closing in on him finished fourth. With an OCS in race six and a 5.5 in race seven Phil Chadwick’s tip at a hat trick is sipping away he is in fourth on 17.5 points. Another local crew who are working their way up the leader board are Brody and Cory Riley they are in sixth place on 36 points and are the 1st Junior/Junior crew. The Rileys are a feature of the Pacer Nationals Corey and Brody are nephews of Alan, their father Graham is sailing with his nephew Jarrod and niece Ellie Riley is sailing with Matlida Hiscock. Racing continues on Wednesday and Thursday with three long races over the two days.
