2016 New York–Vendée Transatlantic Race - Kojiro Shiraishi (Spirit of Yukoh) has finished seventh in the inaugural 2016 New York – Vendée (Les Sables d’Olonne) Race presented by Currency House and SpaceCode.
Shiraishi, the Japanese skipper, crossed the finish line off Les Sables d’Olonne on Friday, June 10 at 23:01:40 (French time).
Shiraishi covered the course in 12 days 01 hr 21 mins and 40 seconds. He finished two days 08 hours 23 minutes and 48 seconds behind the winner, Jérémie Beyou, (Maître CoQ).
Shiraishi sailed 3,500 miles at an average speed of 12,10 knots.
Note: the theoretical racecourse was 3,100 miles.
