National Raceboat Championship - Round 1 fast approaching
by RYA on 14 Mar 2013
The first round at West Bay Dorset is rapidly approaching and plans are well under way to make this first event of the National Raceboat Championship a success. For the 2013 season, the NRC will see four rounds with a timed Practise and four heats at each venue.
Throughout the season there will be prizes that could make your 2014 season very cost effective. RYA National Championship points will be awarded at each Round for all qualifying classes (as per PB1 2013).
Each Round will be filmed for TV creating a win, win situation for competitors and sponsors alike.
We have negotiated with the RYA Powerboat Racing Department that any brand new competitor to the sport can benefit from a special provisional licence for the price of £200. (when committing to this series)
Please remember that if you have not raced within the last two years you will need to undergo training prior to your first event allowing plenty of time to apply and receive licences.
Training sessions are being held in Kent by South East Powerboat Association (SEPA) on 31st March, Guernsey by Guernsey Powerboat Association (GPA) on 6th April and in Devon, by Offshore Circuit Racing Drivers Association (OCRDA) on 14th April.
We are looking to improve Offshore Powerboat Racing here in the UK and whilst the clubs continue to put on the events, We really need your input into how you want the events to run so we can provide the best events possible for you the racer and get more boats out on the water.
The questionnaire is designed to find out what boats are still owned by racers and who is interested in racing. Or for officials if you are helping or would like to help at events.
Please take a few minutes to fill out the questionnaire and return to us so we can find out what you would like to get out of these events and try and cater to as many needs as possible.
