World renowned solo yachtsman and adventurer Tony Mowbray is leading expeditions to the Antarctica on his yacht ‘Commitment.’ Groups of paying passengers experience the awesome beauty of the Southern Continent and the adventure of cruising these dangerous waters in a sailing vessel.

Mowbray is talking about his Antarctica adventures every day at the Sydney International Boat (2-7 August) on the Boating Stage in Hall One. He’s a gifted public speaker: able to enthral a crowd with his descriptions of southern waters and possessed an ability to describe people and places in a way that makes them easy to visualise.

He’s also extremely funny, and takes to the stage with only a sense of humour, a blow up penguin and a partially deflated globe as props.

One of people manning the Team Mowbray stand is Wendy Lambert a 50 year old Administrator from South Australia. She was onboard Mowbray’s last Antarctica trip and describes it as a life changing experience, both in terms of the beauty of the landscape and the close friendships that she formed.

Mowbray is planning to lead another expedition to Antarctica on Australia Day 2008, with the possibility of another one leaving between Christmas and New Year, 2007.

Here are some stunning images from the last voyage.
