Last yacht finishes 20th Sydney Gold Coast Race

by Lisa Ratcliff on 3 Aug 2005
At 11.53pm last night, the final yacht to complete the 20th Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race crossed the finish line off Southport’s Main Beach on the Queensland Gold Coast.

Mark Burton’s Sunfast 36 Redline from Victoria was the last of 74 boats, which set out on Saturday from Sydney Harbour, to finish the 384 nautical mile race.

The protest between Estate Master and Cadenza which was re-opened this morning resulted in the Sydney 38 Estate Master receiving a 10 minute penalty. The top three results in the Sydney 38 division were not affected by the protest outcome.
