Australian sailors remain in the mix at the 2013 Laser European Championship and Laser Radial Men’s World Championship after three days of racing in Dublin, Ireland.

A change in wind direction led to bigger waves but a patchier breeze resulting in plenty of movement on the leader board.

Ashley Brunning ended day three in fifth position, giving up his overnight lead, but at the halfway point of the regatta finds himself just seven points off the lead.

Brunning was 10th in the opening race of the day before finishing 39th in race two, which he’s discarded, and will be keen to put pressure on the leaders when the finals series kicks off on Wednesday.

Fellow Australian Ryan Palk is working his way up the leader board, with the Queenslander ending day three in 10th position.

Palk continued his consistent run of results on Tuesday with a sixth and a fifth leaving him 10 points off the podium.

Matthew Wearn has jumped up from his overnight 23rd to be 18th overall after a fifth and a seventh from the final two qualifying races.

Jared West finished the day with an eighth and a 12th to sit in 23rd position.

In the Laser Radial Men’s World Championship Australia’s Tristan Brown has moved into the lead following a perfect two wins from two starts on Tuesday.

Brown, the defending World Champion, began the day in second position with his two wins on Dublin Bay giving him a one point lead ahead of local sailor Fionn Lyden.

Bradley Utting is currently in 34th position after an 11th and a 17th, with Nicholas Howe in 74th.

Full results from Dublin can be found here.
