J-24 Action at 2006 Worlds in Melbourne

Melbourne’s Port Phillip hosted the J- 24 Worlds and our friends from the country of the rising sun were well present with eight entries, our Kiwi neighbours from across the Tasman where racing along with American, British, Brazilian, Italian and Canadian participants.

At all times the mark roundings were worth hearing (not only seeing) as many
colourful expressions were yelled out. Some impossible to understand - which
maybe was a good thing - and some exclamations have obtained international
status and are recognizable to all ears no matter what your background may
be!

Besides these lessons in foreign languages the J24 Worlds sure did live up
to their expectations. Plenty of action and variable conditions tested the
40 yachts which put up a show worth remembering
