Italy organises most ISAF regattas worldwide

by Elena Giolai on 12 Nov 2012
Andrea Camin
In an analysis conducted by Fraglia Vela Riva's sport's director Andrea Camin, on the regattas in the ISAF calendar ( The International Sailing Federation), from September 2011 to September 2012, showed that Italy organised the most regattas in the world with 82 events.

In comparison France had 67, The U.S.A, 50 and Spain 33. This means that 13.78% of the events in the ISAF calendar were organised in Italy compared with 11.26% in France and 8.4% in the U.S. Analysing figures for organising clubs showed that Fraglia Vela Riva was the first sailing club in the world with a total of 16 events compared with 12 from Yacht Club, Argentina and seven from Società des Regatès Rochelaises (La Rochelle- France) and Abu Dhabi Yacht Club, (see attach B).

For this ulterior success, which already speaks for itself, Fraglia Vela Riva would like to thank its staff who made this all possible along with the executive board for its decisions, choices and leadership and to all those who undertook their work with the utmost professionalism and enthusiasm both on water and on land. In addition to the 100 days of regattas, we are left with the satisfaction and conviction of knowing that every single participant who came to Riva del Garda, took home a memory that will remain with them for years to come.
