High stakes at 2017 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships
2017 US Youth Championships will bring together over 175 of America’s top youth sailors, on line in four of six classes. For the second time since 2013, the Corpus Christi Yacht Club will host the pinnacle event for youth sailing in the United States. The 2017 US Youth Championships will bring together over 175 of America’s top youth sailors, with qualification for the 2017 Youth Sailing World Championships on the line in four of the six classes.

IWT Rio Vista Grand Slam – Wrap up
The final day of the event started early with the hope of beating the weatherman’s prediction of a heatwave. Despite not being able to compete on the final day the RVGS crew did a fantastic job in getting through as many races as possible, with only the Freestyle division not getting results due to insufficient wind.

However, by 9am after a flurry of rigging, it was apparent that the wind would need a little more time to gain enough strength for competition.

A solid pack for the slalom, consisting of 15 pros and 12 amateurs, set the scene for an exciting morning of racing With an Ebbing tide throughout the day and 15-20mph winds, the day was declared optimal for some Slalom and Free ride action. Heats kicked off swiftly.
