London 2012 Women's 470 Olympic champions Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie (NZL) - affectionately known as Team Jolly - announced their Rio 2016 intentions early in 2013 and success followed thereafter.

Making their comeback on home waters at Oceanbridge Sail Auckland Regatta in February 2013 they seamlessly got back into their stride and way of thinking. A comprehensive victory was the result and they found themselves back atop of the podium, a position they have got acclimatised to.

Garda and Trentino Olympic Week and Delta Lloyd Regatta victories tested the Kiwis against new Women's 470 campaigners before they fell five points short of Open European Championship gold in Formia, Italy.

Having finished on the Women's 470 World Championship podium on two previous occasions they had failed to add gold to their impressive repertoire. That was until 10 August 2013 when they swooped through in La Rochelle, France to control the field taking a strong lead into the Medal Race.

Aleh and Powrie got the job done in style taking the final bullet to seal their first World title.

Joining Aleh and Powrie as a female nominee for the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year 2013 are Deneen Demourkas (USA), Erika Heineken (USA) and Raya Al-Habsi Click here to view Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie's (NZL) ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Nominee Page.

The winners are selected by the ISAF Member National Authorities (MNAs), the national governing bodies for sailing around the world. The MNAs are now invited to vote for the male and female nominee they believe most deserves the Award.

The winners will be announced at the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards presentation and dinner, taking place on Tuesday 12 November 2013. The venue for the event will be at the El Bander Hotel, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

Each winner will be presented with the prestigious ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award Trophy and a distinctive Rolex ISAF World Sailor website
