New Zealand sailors have won two Gold medals at the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Mallorca.

In the 49er, current world champions, Peter Burling and Blair Tuke led for most of the regatta and sailed consistently on the final day to finish with a 23pt margin over the second placed team Jonas Warrer and Peter Lang (DEN). No medal race was sailed but the crews sailed another three Final races in the Gold fleet

Current World champions, Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie were able to move up from second place to take the Gold medal after they won the Medal race. The French crew of Camille Lecointre and Helene Defrance, who had been leading, finished sixth in the 10 boat Medal race but gave away too many points in the double scoring race.

Both crews were near assured of medals going into the final day of racing, and the NZL Sailing Team did well to emerge with two Gold medals from their first regatta in Europe of the season.

French crews performed the best of the regatta, winning Gold medals in three of the 10 Olympic classes - the Nacra 17, and Mens and Womens RS:X Windsurfers.

Other countries to win Gold Medals were Croatia (470 Men), Brazil (49erFX), Great Britain (Finn), Australia (Laser), and Netherlands (Laser Radial).
